I didn’t understand something during the first 22 years of being a mother. I didn’t understand how important–critical–it is to feel emotions. I didn’t understand that emotions are not something to fear. I didn’t understand how to allow myself to feel negative emotions let alone how to teach my children how to feel theirs.
Now I know differently. Now I understand that it is VITAL to disarm “negative” emotions by FEELING them, by allowing them, by sitting with them. It is at this point that they begin to loose their power.
