Have you ever known exactly how you want to respond–and still found yourself doing something different?
You know you don’t need to worry about your adult child all night.
You know another conversation probably won’t make your husband understand.
You know you want to stay calm when plans suddenly change.
And yet, in the moment, the old response can still show up.
It’s easy to think, I know better. Why can’t I just do it differently?
But there may be a Hidden Pattern underneath your response.
Your brain and body are constantly using what they’ve learned from past experiences to predict what will help keep you safe. Sometimes those predictions continue operating even after you consciously know another response would serve you better.
That’s why more information isn’t always the answer.
You can read the book. Understand the concept. Pray about it. Make a new plan.
All of those can help.
But lasting change can also require giving your brain and body new information so old predictions can update and new patterns can develop.
This is where partnership becomes different from trying harder.
Instead of asking, What’s wrong with me? or Why can’t I get this right?, you can become curious:
What has my mind and body learned–and what might they need to learn now?
That’s the work I love doing with women.
If you’ve been recognizing yourself in these Hidden Patterns and you’re ready for support putting what you know into practice, my 6-week private coaching experience may be your next step.
