How we interpret our life experiences can be paralleled to a water bottle. Negative beliefs fill our water bottles, usually beginning at a young age, as a result of our experiences. When we don’t know what to do about those beliefs, when we just “push them under the carpet” and “try to forget about them,” they still have an effect upon us. Eventually our water bottle becomes very full, even to overflowing, and we find ourselves exploding, often wondering what triggered us and our behavior leaves damage in the wake as we explode.
