Why reactions are often about more than the moment itself
Many women assume that if something isn’t actively bothering them anymore… they must be fine.
But that’s not always how it works.
I often tell clients it’s like a water bottle slowly filling.
A hard conversation.
Disappointment.
Pressure.
Holding back what you really feel.
Even if you move on quickly, your system may still be carrying it.
And eventually, something small spills the bottle over.
Then comes the thought:
“Why am I reacting so strongly to this?”
But the reaction usually isn’t just about the moment.
It’s about how full you already were.
That’s why I teach women not to wait until they’re overwhelmed to pay attention to what’s happening internally.
Not everything needs to become a big emotional processing session.
But noticing what’s building before it spills over changes everything.
Instead of asking:
“What’s wrong with me?”
You start asking:
“What have I been carrying?”
The answers brings clarity.
PS: If this idea of “carrying more than you realize” resonates, my Hidden Patterns guide may help you understand why certain reactions feel bigger than they seem. You can find it here.
