Many of us think that faith means having no doubts or questions. We assume real faith equals certainty, but what if that’s not true?
Faith isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about trusting even without them. As author Anne Lamott says, “The opposite of faith isn’t doubt—it’s certainty.” Needing every detail clear and every outcome sure leaves no room for trust.
When we cling to certainty, we risk anxiety, stress, and disconnection from true peace. The constant need to know everything can rob us of discovering messages in the need for certainty that can actually set us free.
Next time you doubt, don’t see it as a lack of faith. Instead, ask yourself, “How can I lean into trust right now?” Let go of needing every answer and allow faith to fill in the gaps.
Picture a life where you feel at peace, even in uncertainty. Releasing control strengthens your faith, opening the door to resilience in the face of challenges.
