What If It Was Never Your Job?

When hidden patterns finally make sense.

Have you ever walked away from a difficult conversation replaying every word?

Wondering what else you should have said.

What you should have done differently.

Or how you could fix the relationship.

For years, I thought that was simply what love looked like.

If someone was unhappy with me, I believed it was my responsibility to make things right.

At first, that sounds healthy.

After all, Scripture teaches us to seek reconciliation.

But somewhere along the way, my understanding became distorted.

I wasn’t just taking responsibility for my part.

I was taking responsibility for the outcome.

If I apologized and they were still hurt, I assumed I hadn’t done enough.

If I tried to repair the relationship and they stayed distant, I wondered what else I should have said.

If they didn’t respond the way I hoped, I quietly carried the weight of believing it was still my job to fix it.

Looking back, I can see how exhausting that was.

The Difference That Changed Everything

God asks us to take responsibility for our own hearts.

Our words.

Our attitudes.

Our actions.

He also calls us to pursue peace and reconciliation whenever possible.

But nowhere does He ask us to carry responsibility for another person’s response.

Their heart is not yours to control.

Their choices are not yours to manage.

Their healing is not yours to produce.

Those things belong to them—and ultimately, to God.

That realization changed the way I see relationships.

I can apologize sincerely.

I can own my mistakes.

I can seek reconciliation with humility.

And then I can trust God with the outcome.

That’s not giving up on people.

It’s letting go of a burden I was never created to carry.

What Becoming Looks Like

This doesn’t mean relationships suddenly become easy.

It means you stop measuring your faithfulness by someone else’s response.

Imagine leaving a difficult conversation knowing you’ve owned your part—and then sleeping peacefully because you no longer believe it’s your job to change another person’s heart.

Imagine loving deeply without carrying another person’s emotions.

Imagine trusting God with the outcome while remaining fully responsible for your own obedience.

That’s the woman I believe God is inviting us to become.

Not a woman who loves less.

A woman who loves with freedom.

Hi!
I'm Coach Mandy-Marie

In 2010, I felt stuck in depression–overwhelmed, anxious, and striving to get everything right. Trying harder only left me exhausted and disconnected.

Things shifted when I realized my mind and body weren’t broken–they were protecting me. As hidden patterns began to make sense, I found more calm, clarity, and capacity to handle what life brought.

Today, I help women understand the hidden patterns keeping them stuck, so they can live the life God created them to live.

Calm your mind.
Steady your body.
Live aligned.
