I recently taught the Founding Females Mastermind how women can do mind mastery work–and still feel stuck when hidden patterns in the mind and body are driving the response.
Thought work matters deeply. And sometimes hidden patterns in the mind and body are shaping responses in ways women haven’t fully understood yet.
That’s because sometimes…mindset needs something more.
When the body is in survival mode, the mind can’t think clearly, and the spirit struggles to feel peace. We can’t “think” our way into alignment when our nervous system still believes we’re in danger.
That’s where Hidden Pattern #3: Running on Empty often hides–when we keep striving, producing, and showing up from depletion instead of safety and connection.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
A Mirror to Yourself
Notice what rises inside you when you feel pressure to keep going:
- Do you hear “just push through” on repeat?
- Do you feel wired-and-tired, foggy, or numb?
- Do you catch yourself overgiving or overworking to prove your worth?
These are signals–not failures–that your system is running on empty.
Mind → Body → Spirit Reset
Mind: Name it without judgment.
“I notice I’m pushing from empty. That’s a signal, not a flaw.”
Body: Choose a nervous system reset that matches your state:
- Fight (amped/irritable): Inhale 2, exhale 8 through pursed lips; gently shake out your arms (the “washing machine”).
- Flight (restless/anxious): Try the 5–4–3–2–1 grounding (see 5, touch 4, hear 3, smell 2, taste 1) and add a slow side-to-side rock.
- Freeze (shut down): Run cold water over your hands, wiggle toes/fingers, then hum with one hand at your throat and one on your heart.
- Fawn (people-pleasing): One hand heart, one belly: “It’s okay to have needs. I am safe with myself.”
Spirit: Pray: “Lord, teach me Your rhythm over hustle. Anchor me in Your peace.”
This is how we refill–from the inside out.
