Have you ever looked at your life and thought, “This isn’t what I pictured God had in mind for me”? That’s where I’ve been lately. I’ve done the “this and that” the world promises will bring success and the results don’t look anything like I imagined. And when outcomes don’t line up, it’s so easy to slip into the belief that maybe I’m not doing it right…or worse, that I’m not enough.
On top of that, my heart feels heavy with grief over the evil in our world–Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the passing of President Russell M. Nelson, and evil violence in places of worship. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when so many call evil good, and good evil.
A Mirror to Yourself
Notice what rises inside you when you face disappointment or when results don’t come as quickly as you hope:
- Do you tie your worth to outcomes?
- Do you believe “if I don’t succeed, I must not be enough”?
- Do you feel unseen or unvalued by the people closest to you?
These are signs of Hidden Pattern #1: Fear of Failure.
Mind → Body → Spirit Reset
Here’s a way to step out of fear and into peace:
Mind: Name the sadness or frustration honestly. Don’t push it away.
Body: Place a hand over your heart, breathe slowly, and remind your body: I am safe to move forward. I am held.
Spirit: Pray Romans 8:28 out loud: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” Ask Him to show you how He is working—even here.
This shift helps you anchor your worth in Christ–not in outcomes.
God’s ways are not our ways. His plans may not look like what we imagined, but they always lead to greater alignment with Him.
